Verifiable Technician Training

Course Registration

Course Log-on

Beginning September 1, 2000, all commercial and noncommercial licensed technicians shall complete eight (8) hours of verifiable training for the preceding twelve (12) months of the renewal date. The verifiable training shall be reported on a board prescribed verifiable training record form, and must be verified upon each annual renewal of the technician's license.

The eight (8) hours should follow the subject areas listed below; however, please make note that there is no specific amount for each subject required.

1. Federal and state laws regulating structural pest control and pesticide application.
2. Recognition of pest and pest damage.
3. Pesticide labels and label comprehension
4. Pesticide safety
5. Environmental protection
6. Application equipment and techniques
7. Pesticide formulations and actions
8. Emergency procedures and pesticide cleanup, and procedures for the immediate reporting of spills and misapplications.
9. Basic principles of mathematics, chemistry, toxicology, and entomology
10. Non-chemical pest control techniques including biological, mechanical and prevention techniques.

• Two (2) hours of the eight (8) hours of training may be on the job training or hands on training.
• Internet training, correspondence training, videotape training or live verifiable technician training may be used if the certified applicator certifies that the training is the appropriate training.
• Hour for hour credit will be given if a Board approved Continuing Education Unit course is completed.
• No courses may be repeated for credit per year.
• All verifiable training records forms will be made available to the Board upon request. These verifiable training records forms shall be kept on a format prescribed by the Board in the business file for at least two (2) years after termination of employment.
• The verifiable training records forms will be made available to the technician upon written request.

• Identifying Cockroaches In and Around the Home - 1 HOUR
• Managing Pesticide Drift - 1 HOUR
• Pesticide Families - 1 HOUR
• Principles of Pest Control on Lawns and Turf - 1 HOUR
• Sucking Pests of Ornamental Shrubs - 1 HOUR
• Recognition and Control of Some Small Vertebrates Pests Small Mammals - 1 HOUR

Registration Information

To register for the online courses, click here for the Credit Card Registration (instant passwords) We accept Discover, MasterCard, Visa, American Express, or Checks. Once payment has been received, we will email or fax your list of passwords to enter the courses. These passwords will be good until your deadline. After that a new registration will be required and a new fee charged. The courses may be printed out to study or studied on screen. When you have completed the study material, go to the "Test Questions for Credit". The test will consist of 10 randomly generated questions. PRINT this test out first, answer the questions on paper and fax or mail this back to PestNetwork.com Once received, the test will be reviewed, a Certificate will be issued and the licensing agency notified of your CEUs. We will maintain your records for the appropriate time frame.
